The Weekender was inspired by the old tool bag I found in the back corner of my parents' shed (see the last photo). It is the perfect size for a weekend trip. It accommodates an extra pair of shoes plus a few days of clothes and still fits in the overhead bins on the small regional airplanes. Just wait until you walk out the jet bridge past everyone waiting for their dinky roller bags that had to get checked underneath the plane and you'll remember why you chose grit over rolling convenience.
